GB Technique: Knee on Belly Sequence with Prof. Marcio Feitosa

This week on GB Technique we are going to look in detail at a 180-degree armbar and other attacks from the knee on the belly (KOB) position by 6th-degree black belt Prof. Marcio Feitosa
Have you checked out the GB Online Instagram account?
Let’s take a look at some options from KOB where Prof. Marcio transitions between different attacks depending on the opponent’s reaction.
1 – KOB 180 degrees arm lock – 1 / 3
Prof. Marcio Feitosa enters directly to the knee on the belly position after the Bullfighter Guard pass. When the opponent pushes on Prof. Marcio’s knee to relieve the pressure, it exposes the arm for the attack
2 – KOB to Kimura lock – 2/3
If the opponent defends their arm by gripping their own gi/belt, Prof. Marcio switches his grip to a Kimura grip and changes his attack
3 – KOB nearside straight arm lock – 3/3
The opponent may react by pushing higher on the chest – which exposes their near sidearm for a straight armbar attack. Note how Prof. Marcio balances his weight so he can slide his right leg tight up against the shoulder of his opponent
What is your favorite KOB attack?
