Out of all of the various takedowns we practice in Jiu-Jitsu, perhaps the technique that is most successful between both gi Jiu-Jitsu and No-Gi is the single-leg takedown. There are a number of entries, control grips, and variations to finish worth the Jiu-Jitsu student’s study.

Single-Leg Setup and Finish
Prof. “Samoa” shows a variation of the “running the pipe” finish to the single leg. A collar/head grip creates a strong force to break the opponent’s balance and put him on the ground
