Taking Care of your Mind is Jiu-Jitsu: Problems? Grab them, take them to the floor and finish it!
Keeping concentration, focus and discipline is not an easy task. The busy routine, and problems that surround it, are a number of factors that do not help to get you to the jiu-jitsu class of the day. If we are all equal with different problems, why does just forgetting them not solve it?
Before any action to be taken, always remember: Letting go of what bothers you does not mean that it will disappear from your life. But, are those concerns truly necessary? As in a fight in competition, the pressure often makes us to commit mistakes and misinterpretations of a particular movement.
“Be too big to feel restlessness, too noble to feel anger, too strong to feel fear and too happy to feel setbacks” Grandmaster Carlos Gracie
The creator of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Great Master Carlos Gracie looked at and analyzed the life as combat. He understood that at times we are losing, in others we are winning and even tired. These oscillations were all related the tiredness of the journey. We are all tired of the everyday pressure and sometimes unintentionally we let those concerns take over of our mind and we got alienated from what is good for us. Being a kimono warrior or not, you are already a winner. Face your problem and if it is the cause of your absence from the training, grab it, take it to the floor and finish it! As our Great Master would say, “Be too big to feel restlessness, too noble to feel anger, too strong to feel fear and too happy to feel setbacks”
