Today, I was listening to one of the contemporary motivational speakers. His name is J. Wilkins. He said that for us to be great, we have to pay the price. And that greatness never goes on SALE! We have to pay the full price. Let’s look at the professors at Gracie Barra; and see if they also paid the price to be where they are. The answer is yes. Sacrifices, aching muscles, hours on the mat, rivalries, etc.

 

J. Wilkins pointed out that the best things in this world are never cheap. Everything comes with a price. Some good things go on sale, where the price goes cheap. He pointed this out:

During the Black Friday sale, most items go on sale. Where stores push products to be on sale. But notice great brands such as Louis Vuitton, Armani, Gucci, and Chanel. For consumers to get hold of these great brands, they need to pay full price. There is no question about it.”

While the world of Jiu-Jitsu are strides differ from consumer products, understand that the greatness of being a black belt, an achiever, to be someone who lives to define his moment, for someone who pushes for the top, a price has to be paid. And it will never come cheap. The price will never go down.

Greatness doesn’t come at a 2 for the price of 1 sale. Nor a shortcut to being a black belt will never ever be found. Either take the rough road to it, or do not take it at all.

As Jiu-Jitsu artists who are reading this, Gracie Barra wishes that everybody pays the full price into becoming a great Jiu-Jitsu artist. It is because you are destined for greatness. You are destined to succeed. Happy Monday everyone!
