Gracie Barra was founded in 1986. Over the years we grew from one single martial arts school to almost 400 locations in the 5 continents. Our founder, Master Carlos Gracie Jr., mentored and inspired several generations of Jiu-Jitsu fighters and instructors to work together on the dream bringing Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone.
The Gracie Barra Legacy Award was created by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. as recognition for the loyalty, support, commitment, and hard work of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu professors who have been working to build Gracie Barra for 25 years or more.
Each one of these individuals have placed an enormous contribution not only to GB, but to the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as competitors, instructors and leaders:
