GB Technique: Straight Arm Bar from Different Positions

This week on GB Technique we are going to look at some straight Arm Bar attacks from different positions with Prof. Ubaldini of Gracie Barra Overland Park in Kansas.
Most of us think of the straight armbar from the mount or guard when we picture using the submission attack. But we are not limited to those 2 positions when hunting for the straight armbar. Prof. Ubaldini – who trained at the original Gracie Barra in Barra de Tijuca in Brazil shares some of his favorite variations this week on GB Technique.

Arm Bar From Side Control
When your opponent tries to hide their arms in side control, you can look to secure than s grip and attack with this armbar variation
Spinning Arm Bar from Knee on Belly
Your opponent’s defensive reaction to a primary attack will usually expose an opening in another area.
Arm Bar from the Back Mount
Our primary attack from the back mount is usually the choke, but we also have a secondary attack in the straight armbar
