Never forget that the roots of the martial arts is how to defend yourself in the event of a violent encounter.
ㅤ
Fortunately, the art of jiu-jitsu was developed to address these very common situations and has very effective and real life applicable techniques. While it is fun to explore all of the sport oriented positions in jiu-jitsu, we must always remember the self defense fundamentals. They could save your life some day.
ㅤ
Let’s take a look at some of the most common Self Defense positions as taught by Gracie Barra’s Prof. Carlos Liberi.
