GB Technique: No-gi with Prof. “Tussa” Alencar
Do you prefer to train Jiu-Jitsu in the gi or put on your rash guard and roll No-gi?
ㅤ
GB Online offers a course for Gracie Barra students who want to level up their No-gi game. The GB 2 course is for No-gi techniques and taught by Prof. “Tussa” Alencar.
ㅤ
Roberto “Tussa” Alencar is a 4X World No-gi champion and BJJ coach to MMA and UFC fighters – so he has the background and experience to bring us some high-level techniques.
ㅤ
Let’s see some advanced techniques especially for your no-gi game by Prof. “Tussa” from the GB Online Instagram account.

ㅤ
Rear Triangle from Back Mount
From the Kimura grip in the back mount, we can look to attack an armbar or look for the lesser-known rear triangle choke.
ㅤ
Side Mount Triangle Armbar Attack
Here is another variation on attacking the armbar/triangle from side mount.
ㅤ
Spinning Armbar from Knee on Belly
It’s natural for your opponent to push on your knee to relieve the pressure from knee on belly. This creates the opening for the 180-degree armbar attack.
ㅤ
Body Cross Half Guard Sweep
I had never seen this variation of the half guard sweep before but often get in this position.
ㅤ
Standing Arm Drag to Double Leg
The short arm drag is seen in high-level No-gi competition any time the competitors are trying to win the hand fighting battle.
