Escaping from a Standing Guillotine
Start off 2013 with Prof. Otavio Sousa as He Shows How to Defend from a Standing Guillotine Attack
We’ve all seen the devastating power of a standing guillotine in MMA fights. For those who may be wondering what best way to escape from it, Professor Otavio Sousa shows there are simple, yet intelligent ways to defend and eventually escape from the attack.
The guillotine’s power stems from the pressure being placed on the neck. There are variations of the hold such as hands clasped together that puts the pressure on the sides of the neck, or the the forearm pressing against the windpipe. In this video, Professor Octavio demonstrates that hand control can help you defend against it.
