Eating Well is Jiu-Jitsu: 3 healthy recipes with berries

Last week we talked about the powerful red fruits and berries, and promised that this week we would bring delicious, healthy and practical recipes with them, so you can get the most out of these “magic” foods.

Paper and pen in hand, let’s get started.


RECEITA-363Berry Smoothie:
 Of course this had to be the first one on the list. Very practical and ideal for our routine.

Ingredients:

2 blackberry frozen juice bars

180 grams of berry light yogurt

1 tablespoon of wheat germ

1 cup of fresh orange juice

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until mixed, without letting the pulp completely dissolve, maintaining a creamy consistency. Serve chilled.

Detox Berry Juice: This also had to be on our list… after all it is always good to know new recipes.

2 cups of frozen berries (cherries, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries)

200 ml of pomegranate or cranberry juice

200 ml of ice water

Preparation:

Blend all ingredients in a blender and serve.

Banana Ice Cream with Berries:  There’s nothing better than an ice cream for a weekend’s dessert, right? And if we can enjoy a healthier version, it’s even better!

1 Banana, sliced and frozen

1/2 cup of frozen raspberries, blackberries and blueberries

1/2 cup of almond milk or skim milk

1 tablespoon of almonds.

Preparation:

Blend all ingredients in a blender and serve.
