Gracie Barra Orlando‘s Jonathan Brookins made headlines once again with knocking out Vagner Rocha 1:32 into the 1st round during UFC on Fuel TV: Sanchez vs. Ellenberger. Brookins first made headlines when he won The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck Finale with a unanimous decision victory over Team GSP team mate Michael Johnson. During the show Brookins had the privilege to train under fellow Gracie Barra Montreal’s Black Belt George St. Pierre and won over audiences with both his explosive fighting style and humble personality. After winning The Ultimate Fighter Finale Brookins was awarded his purple belt by Professor Marcio Simas. The win over Rocha put Brookins record at 13-4 (2-1 in the UFC). Brookins showed his humility and sportsmanship after the fight “That’s the way it goes sometimes, it could have been either one of us. My hat’s off to Vagner.”
