The largest BJJ organization in the world, Gracie Barra was again at the top of the planet on July 24. In an excursion led by Brazilian alpinist Carlos Santalena, GB Red Shield reached the Huyana Potosi peak (6088 meters high), atop the Andes mountain range, thanks to GB teammate Roberto Freitas, from Joinville, Brazil, who participated of the adventure.

“All the training at GB is very helpful for scaling such high mountains. When I train BJJ in GB, my teammates always demand the most of me, not only in terms of physical endurance but also in terms of mind challenging, going further than the limits – plus all the support they provide so we can be better students. In that way, everyday I am a better person, and I learn how to not give it up easily when facing a tough task. It was extremely challenging but watching the sunrise from that peak was an unforgettable experience,” said Roberto Freitas.
