9/15/25: WHAT IS YOUR MISSION?
I cannot sugar coat how I feel about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. When I heard the news on Wednesday I was sitting at work in shock. No person deserves what happened to him simply for engaging in open discussions. I was personally a huge fan of what he was doing, allowing people with completely dissenting views an opportunity to engage with him on an open mic. I was simply amazed at the level of knowledge he possessed on essentially every topic that was brought up during those debates. I had no idea that he began his journey forming Turning Point when he was just 18. He was a man beyond his years and one whose life was cut way too short.
Charlie had something that every man, woman and child should have: A MISSION. Whether you agreed with him or not, it is undeniable that he was absolutely unwavering in his beliefs and his goal. If you are somehow unaware of who he was and what his mission was, watching a few clips of his events will make it very clear, very quickly.
When I got into the martial arts business, I had a much bigger mission than simply making money and teaching martial arts. I wanted to share a lifestyle with people that would allow them to develop themselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. To do this, it is essential that I surround ourselves with people that share those same beliefs. A house divided cannot stand. While I feel we have everything in place to address the first 3 of those goals above, very soon we will be offering an opportunity to further address the 4th. Stay tuned for that.
So, what is your mission? I'm not talking about just raising a family, being a good person or being a good employee. To me, those are the basics that everyone should strive for. I am asking you, when the lights are off, when people are not looking, when you have a chance to reflect on why you are here on this planet, what do you want to be remembered for? If your "mission" is to simply make it through the week so you can enjoy a couple days off, you need to re-evaluate what you are doing. You are not going to get any sympathy from me if I hear how busy you are and that you don't have time.... because for those that remember the message from a couple months ago, it's not about time, it's about priorities. I started my mission while working a full time job and raising 2 small children and have dedicated 10 years to this endeavor.
If you haven't figured out your mission, it's time to get started, TODAY. I'm going to share with you how I figured out mine........but next week. I want you to start thinking about yours before I tell you HOW I found mine. Tune in next week, it might just change your life.
