JIU-JITSU THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY

JIU-JITSU THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY

Gracie Barra Ashburn was born with the objective of continuing the mission given by master Carlos Gracie Jr in bringing Jiu-Jitsu to Everyone, transforming lives and helping the community in which we live.

We truly believe that we can do much more than teach techniques or win championships. Through brazilian jiu-jitsu, we can improve in physical, mental and social aspects. For this reason, our school seeks to carry out actions that can help those who live around us.

Each winter, our school runs a food drive campaign to collect meals for local families.  Together we have helped to feed over 600 families throughout the holidays.

In addition to promoting self-defense education, our school also focuses on community outreach events.   We hold quarterly FREE community events such as women’s self-defense seminars, LEO/first responder safe weapons retention and ground control tactics seminars, and kid’s anti-bullying seminars.

“Hold a good opinion about your self and communicate that to the world, but not through dissonant words but through good works.”
(Grand Master Carlos Gracie)

It is always importante to remember that teamwork also happens when, through good deeds, we can help someone to have a better day or life. If we want to live in a better world, we must start by making a difference for ourselves. We truly believe this and seek to strive for events that promote not only the sporting aspect, but also the social aspect. That is why we are here to make a difference not only in the lives of our students, but in our community, in the world!
