Absolutely not! Our GB1 Fundamentals program is specifically designed for complete beginners. Our structured curriculum and supportive instructors will guide you from day one. Many of our most dedicated members had zero martial arts experience when they started.
Wear comfortable athletic clothing like shorts, leggings, and a t-shirt that allow you to move freely. We provide a Gracie Barra Gi and rashguard for your introductory classes. Bring slip-on shoes (flip-flops or sandals) and a water bottle. Arrive 15 minutes early.
We accept kids from age 3! Our programs are broken into age-specific groups: Tiny Champions (3–4), Little Champions I (5–6), Little Champions II (7–9), and Juniors & Teens (10–16). Each class is tailored to the developmental stage of the children in it.
Safety is our number one priority. All instructors are ICP-certified, hold First Aid certificates, Police Checks, and Working With Children Checks. Our structured curriculum teaches techniques progressively and emphasises control and respect. BJJ is about leverage and technique, not aggression.
Yes! Our GBF (Gracie Barra Females) program is a women-only class designed to be a safe, supportive entry point into Jiu-Jitsu. It focuses on core techniques while building confidence. As you progress, you’ll have the option to join mixed classes like GB1, GB2, and GB3.
When you sign up for a membership, your first 2 weeks of training are completely free. You’ll have access to all classes available at your membership level. This gives you a risk-free way to experience the Gracie Barra Bondi community before committing long-term.
