Coach Mike Leland – Purple Belt

Coach Mike began his jiu-jitsu journey while in the 75th Ranger Regiment 2nd Ranger Battalion where he was exposed to grappling and Army Combatives. After retiring from the US Army in 2017,  Coach Mike moved with his family to Stafford, VA, where he began his formal training as a brand new white belt, under Prof Thiago Reinaldo.  This training began as a result of his wife’s passion for jiu-jitsu and the mutually enjoyed benefits of training jiu-jitsu.

Coach Mike teaches the 6am GB1 Fundamentals class and children’s Little Champs 1 class.  He also has competed in a handful of tournaments where he has podiumed in every event.
