Whether your child is new to martial arts or looking for a positive, active sport, Gracie Barra Hunter Valley provides a welcoming environment where every student can thrive.

Empowering Kids Through Jiu-Jitsu

At Gracie Barra, Jiu-Jitsu is more than a martial art - it’s a path to confidence, resilience, and respect. Through structured training, kids learn focus, discipline, and how to overcome challenges.

In a safe, supportive environment, our certified instructors help students build strength, coordination, and essential life skills. Surrounded by a strong sense of team and belonging, they become part of a global family - growing on and off the mats.

By practising Jiu-Jitsu, children learn valuable skills they wouldn’t develop from other sports - like staying calm under pressure, using technique over strength, and solving problems with focus and confidence.

The patience, positivity and dedication of the instructors have helped my child grow not only in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but also as a person. Since joining, I've seen an incredible boost in their strength, confidence and self-belief. They look forward to every class and are always excited to learn something new. • If you’ve ever wanted to try BJJ , I can’t recommend this place enough! At first, I was worried because I’m not a native English speaker and wasn’t sure how I’d keep up with the classes. But from the moment I walked in, everyone made me feel so welcome. The team is incredibly friendly, supportive, and made me feel at home from the very first second. I’ve completely fallen in love with BJJ, and a big part of that is the amazing atmosphere and the people here. It genuinely feels like being part of a family. I highly recommend this place to anyone thinking about giving BJJ a try!
  • From shy and lacking confidence to outgoing and resilient, our daughter can't wait for upcoming sessions and is always is eager to attend. Professor Gene and Karen are so welcoming, encouraging and supportive to every member who attends and we can't recommend them enough!

  • GB Hunter Valley offers a welcoming environment that challenges kids while nurturing their individuality. The coaches are great role models—my daughter loves it here. I couldn’t ask for a better BJJ school. Highly recommended.
  • I have been visiting in the area for work and decided to do a casual class at Gracie Barra HV BJJ. All of the staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The professor and all of the senior belts were very knowledgeable and friendly and mindful of my safety and level of experience, as were all of the students. Great atmosphere. If I was a local I would join this club.
  • GBHV offers fun kids classes, solid beginner fundamentals, and technical advanced sessions. Professors and coaches foster a skilled, family-friendly, and inclusive environment focused on building a strong team. Love this place.
  • A friend of mine whilst on holidays in Texas posted he went to train at Gracie North Austin. I thought there must be something to this, wanting to train whilst on holidays. Walked into GB Hunter valley and realised straight away why people love this. Geno and his team are great a welcoming community with no judgment. At 44 years old I thought is this really for me but after a few session it becomes addictive. If you were ever thinking of giving this a go just do it you won’t regret it.
  • My daughters have trained at GBHV for 3 years. The team is welcoming, and the girls never want to miss a day. They’ve become stronger, more resilient, and capable—thanks to the amazing training and support. Highly recommend GBHV.
  • A second home with the most supportive & fun group of people. Have built so much confidence from training here!
  • Very professional, helpful and great communication. Coach Karen is really great with the little kids, she is encouraging, calm, firm and fair and gains respect from her students. My son has now been attending for 3 years and he loves it, he's grown in confidence and has learnt to defend himself with the help of this most practical martial art you'll ever need to know in general life.
