Last Saturday, Gracie Barra Artarmon proudly opened its doors to local families for a Free Kids Anti-Bullying Workshop, bringing together children, parents and community members for an important and empowering event.

As part of our commitment to supporting families across Artarmon, Chatswood, Lane Cove, St Leonards and Sydney's North Shore, the workshop focused on helping children build confidence, awareness and resilience while learning valuable strategies to deal with challenging situations.

At Gracie Barra, we believe martial arts is about much more than physical training. It is about helping children develop the confidence and character needed to navigate everyday life with respect, courage and self-belief.

Giving Back to Our Community

One of the goals of the workshop was to give back to the community that continues to support our academy.

We were delighted to welcome children and families from both inside and outside the Gracie Barra community, creating an opportunity for everyone to learn together in a positive and welcoming environment.

Events like these are an important part of our mission to make a meaningful impact beyond the mats.

By providing free educational opportunities, we hope to help children develop the tools they need to handle difficult situations with confidence and maturity.

Empowering Children Through Education

Throughout the workshop, children learned about:

  • Bullying awareness
  • Confidence and body language
  • Respectful communication
  • Emotional resilience
  • Situational awareness
  • Safe self-defence principles

More importantly, they learned that confidence often starts with how we carry ourselves and how we respond to challenges.

Our goal was not simply to teach techniques, but to help children develop the mindset and self-belief that can help prevent bullying situations from escalating in the first place.

Building Confidence On and Off the Mats

At Gracie Barra Artarmon, we regularly see the positive impact that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has on children's confidence.

As children learn new skills, overcome challenges and achieve goals, they begin to develop a stronger belief in themselves.

This confidence often carries into:

  • School
  • Friendships
  • Sports
  • Everyday life

Many parents tell us that one of the biggest benefits of training is seeing their children become more confident, resilient and comfortable in social situations.

Thank You to Our Families

We would like to thank all the children and parents who attended the workshop and helped make the event such a success.

Seeing so many families come together to support positive learning and community development was incredibly rewarding.

We are proud to be part of a community that values respect, support and personal growth.

More Than Martial Arts

At Gracie Barra Artarmon, our mission goes beyond teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

We are committed to helping children build:

  • Confidence
  • Discipline
  • Respect
  • Resilience
  • Leadership skills

Through classes, workshops and community events, we strive to create positive opportunities for children to grow both on and off the mats.

Looking Ahead

The success of this workshop reinforces the importance of providing children with opportunities to learn, grow and develop confidence in a supportive environment.

We look forward to continuing to serve our local community through future events, educational workshops and Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs.

Together, we can help build stronger, more confident young people.
