Gracie Barra Artarmon Celebrates Professor Carlos Birthday
Last Saturday was a very special day at Gracie Barra Artarmon as our community came together to celebrate Professor Carlos’ birthday both on and off the mats.
The day began with an incredible atmosphere during our Kids and Adults Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, with students and families sharing a morning filled with training, energy and community spirit.
We also had a fantastic Adults Open Mat, where students trained hard, shared rounds together and welcomed some very special visitors who joined us on the mats for the celebration.
Moments like these remind us that Gracie Barra is much more than just martial arts training — it is a community built around friendship, support and shared experiences.
A Special Celebration With Our Kids Program
One of the highlights of the day was the celebration with our Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes.
At the end of the classes, some of our amazing parents surprised Professor Carlos with a birthday cake so the children could celebrate together.
It was a special moment that reflected the strong sense of community and appreciation that exists within Gracie Barra Artarmon.
Seeing the kids excited to celebrate together created an unforgettable atmosphere for everyone involved.

Training and Community Together
After the morning classes and open mat, some of our adult students and families continued the celebration by getting together for lunch.
These moments outside the academy are an important part of the culture we strive to create at Gracie Barra Artarmon.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brings people together from across Artarmon, Chatswood, Lane Cove, Willoughby and Sydney’s North Shore, helping students build friendships and connections that extend beyond training.
More Than Just Martial Arts
At Gracie Barra Artarmon, we believe Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is about much more than physical training.
Our academy is built around the values of:
- Brotherhood
- Integrity
- Development
Celebrations like this show the positive and welcoming environment that our students, visitors and families help create every day.
Thank You to Our Community
A big thank you to everyone who trained, celebrated and helped make the day so special.
We are incredibly grateful for the amazing community that continues to grow at Gracie Barra Artarmon.
Happy Birthday, Professor Carlos!
