Coach Ryan Romack – Purple Belt

Coach Ryan, a USMC Veteran, began his jiu-jitsu journey in 2010 in Warren, Ohio, under a Pedro Sauer Affiliate, Team Bundy MMA. It was here that Coach Ryan learned of the benefits of jiu-jitsu to promote balance and mental well being to his life.
Due to job-related and military movements overseas, Coach Ryan trained formal jiu-jitsu irregularly until 2016, until arriving in Virginia. Once moved to Virginia in 2016, Coach Ryan trained regularly at One Spirit Martial Arts, in Herndon, VA under Professor David Porter and Master Pedro Sauer until 2018. It was under Master Pedro Sauer that Coach Ryan learned fundamental movements, base, and posture.
In 2019, Coach Ryan and his daughter joined a new jiu-jitsu gym and family in Gracie Barra Ashburn. Here, Coach Ryan trained under Professor Charles Gomes and Professora Glaucia Braga, earning his Blue Belt in October of 2019.
A few years later, Coach Ryan moved to the Quantico area and in July 2021 began training at Gracie Barra Stafford, under Professor Thiago Reinaldo.
Coach Ryan earned his Purple Belt in November of 2022 and continues to train and teach at Gracie Barra Stafford with his daughters who train in the Little Champions Programs.
