Coach Heather Haas – Blue Belt
Coach Heather is a blue belt who began her jiu-jitsu journey after participating in a Parent and Student class with her 2 boys in the Spring of 2021 at Gracie Barra Stafford. While Coach Heather had no real exposure to martial arts before the class, the experience was such a fun challenge she decided to begin her own training and has never looked back. Also, as a woman, Coach Heather was interested in how jiu-jitsu could help build her confidence through learning self defense techniques in an effort to feel safer on her own.
Coach Heather has been an avid athlete for most of her life, spending 11 years playing soccer, along with volleyball in High School. But nothing compares to the incredibly rewarding challenge of jiu-jitsu. Coach Heather has found that training jiu-jitsu requires a singular focus that has helped her relieve stress from work and life while helping develop her mental and physical strength. On top of the focus and drive that jiu-jitsu brings to Coach Heather’s life, the sport has also brought her together with her teammates and they have become like a family to her. The opportunity to win and to learn with her jiu-jitsu family and grow stronger together is something she cherishes deeply and looks forward to each and every time she steps on the mats.
Coach Heather coaches both the LC1 and LC2 classes and loves every minute of it! The champions she coaches have such great energy and a passion for learning and she thoroughly enjoys watching each of them learn and master new techniques while simultaneously developing their own strength and self confidence.
