Professor Marcelo Rezende Leads Special Private Training at GB Central Coast for the GB Oceania Ambassador Program
Last Friday, 24 October, members of the Gracie Barra family came together for another inspiring moment of connection and learning. The Special Private Training at GB Central Coast, hosted by Professor Danillo Coltro and led by Professor Marcelo Rezende from Gracie Barra Headquarters Sydney (Frenchs Forest), brought together students and instructors from different schools in true GB spirit.
Over several hours, Professor Marcelo shared valuable Dela Riva guard concepts and variations, diving deep into key details that students can apply in both training and competition. The energy in the room was outstanding — a reflection of the passion and dedication that define the Gracie Barra Oceania community.
This event was part of the GB Oceania Ambassador Program, a regional initiative that supports the development of Gracie Barra athletes and fosters collaboration across schools. Through the program, 60% of the funds raised from each Special Private Training go directly to the Ambassador Fund, with 40% supporting the hosting instructor. This model ensures that every session not only enhances technical skill but also contributes to a cause that helps our competitors grow and succeed.
Professor Marcelo expressed his gratitude to Professor Danillo Coltro and his team at GB Central Coast for their hospitality and support. He also thanked all the students who participated and helped strengthen the bonds that unite our GB schools across Oceania.
As Professor Marcelo shared, initiatives like these are about more than just BJJ techniques — they’re about brotherhood, integrity, and development. By training together and giving back, we continue to make Gracie Barra stronger, both on and off the mats.
