One Team, One Shield, One Goal: Jiu-Jitsu For Everyone
A mission statement is your vision and statement of purpose. It includes all of the critical elements that guide an organization’s decision-making process and strategy development. At Gracie Barra, our mission is to promote Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone, and everything we do reflects our mission and core values.
Master Carlos Gracie Jr. built the foundation for Gracie Barra in 1986 when he decided to introduce a new kind of martial arts school. He developed Gracie Barra as an organization that would focus on team goals, instead of on individual successes.
One Team, One Shield, One Goal: Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone
One Team: Together we can do so much more than when we stand alone. We place a significant amount of value on teamwork and what it does for the success of an organization. Perhaps Professor Orlando Sanchez of Gracie Barra explains it best: No one person is bigger than Gracie Barra.
One Shield: We strongly encourage all of our instructors, athletes, and students to wear the Red Shield only, and wear it with pride. This connection to brand helps to unify our team of Gracie Barra. When others see the Red Shield, we want them to see the values of integrity, strength, sportsmanship, courage, responsibility, and respect.
One Goal: Our central goal is Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone. All of our decisions come from why we exist – to bring about a new awareness and appreciation for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We strongly believe that the world is a better place when individuals come together and learn the core values of Gracie Barra and learn to implement them in their lives.
We know that the true value we offer is what our service represents – One Team, One Shield, One Goal: Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone.
