Flavio Almeida is on a mission to bring the amazing positive impact of Jiu-Jitsu and Gracie Barra to as many communities as possible. As Head Instructor and co-founder of eight Gracie Barra schools in Southern California and the Phoenix metropolitan area, Flavio has taught thousands of students from all around the world and graduated more than 30 black belts. Gracie Barra San Clemente was the first school founded by Prof. Flavio.
A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor for nearly 30 years, Flavio credits Jiu-Jitsu with changing his outlook on life and Gracie Barra with making him the person he is today, helping him evolve from an overweight teenager with low self-esteem to a Gracie Barra Black Belt world champion. Flavio loves teaching and says it’s his passion and privilege to do for others what his instructors did for him.
Flavio is a Fourth Degree Black Belt under Master Carlos Gracie, Jr. and is a Gracie Barra Oceania Commitment Award winner. His list of titles includes:
