Professor Ray Cruz
Aloha! My name is Ray Cruz. I am originally from Guam and have lived in Hawaii over the last 24 years. My wife is Linda Cruz, and we have three amazing children and one grandchild. I am a full time teacher at Farrington High School.
I started my Jiu Jitsu journey in 2014 – at the age of 54. My son Brayden had been training for three years and was 7 years old at the time. He is now 16 years old and is a blue belt. He was my inspiration to train jiu jitsu. From the first time I stepped foot on the mats, I loved it and knew that this was going to be a big part of my life.
I trained consistently at least 4 times a week – Training for me was tough, but very rewarding. I went through the belts system and learned so much about Jiu Jitsu and about myself, and received my Black Belt in October of 2022. I love training, and love the people I train with and I can honestly say, it has changed my life for the better.
Jiu Jitsu is awesome, and I want to show students how amazing this art is, that anyone can do it, and the benefits are tremendous. I am excited to have this opportunity to teach students the art but more so the spirit that comes with the art. Come join us at Gracie Barra Aloha Stadium, I am looking forwad to meeting you and training with you!
