Welcome to Gracie Barra Santa Ana (GBSA), the first Gracie Barra Premium School in the United States. Our doors opened in 2007 offering world-class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) training for men, women, and children.
Since BJJ was first introduced to the United States, it has become the fastest growing Martial Art in the US and for good reason. BJJ is a ground game, it uses basic principles of leverage, which enable smaller practitioners to control, defeat and escape from bigger opponents.
At GBSA, you will learn BJJ through the hands-on attention from our progress oriented professor and instructors who are trained under the Gracie Barra Curriculum created by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. Our team members are certified by the Gracie Barra Association and each individual has years of experience in teaching, competing and studying the art of BJJ.
You may have heard the saying “Jiu-Jitsu is for everyone” this is because practicing Gracie Barra’s curriculum offers unrivaled self-defense moves, children’s anti-bullying techniques, an intense workout, and world-class competition training. No matter what focus applies, you will love our program!
With our clean, safe and family-oriented environment GBSA is a perfect place to teach your children how to feel safe everyday when they are at school or outside playing. It also aids in developing their self-confidence and discipline.
GBSA’s curriculum includes various programs for our Little Champs, Juniors and Teens. We use these program elements to enhance each students individual abilities. Among others, the programs include our Anti-Bullying Program, Our Junior Coach Program and our Mentorship Program.
A typical Gracie Barra student starts with an introductory class where he or she will learn the overall self-defense strategy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and afterwards enroll in the Gracie Barra Fundamentals Program (GB1).
After four months of training and learning all the techniques that encompass the Fundamental’s curriculum, the student will be recommended to join the Gracie Barra Advanced Program (GB2).
With eight months of training and experience, the student will have the maturity level and enough knowledge to enroll in the Gracie Barra Black Belt Program (GB3). It is in the Gracie Barra Black Belt Program where he or she will be exposed to all kinds of training dynamics including No-Gi training. This helps the student develop his or her own Jiu-Jitsu game, strategy and technique(s).
Private lessons available.
