Professor Doug

Professor Doug was born in the Philippines and adopted and raised all over the world due to his father being in the Air Force.  He himself also served and retired from the United States Marine Corps, with several deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan.  Prior to the Marine Corps and during his service he served as a Fire Fighter.  Prof. Doug has always had the desire to serve and help and protect others.  He is on a mission to bring the amazing positive impact of Jiu-Jitsu and Gracie Barra to the communities in and near Oceanside, CA.  As Head Instructor and co-founder of Gracie Barra Oceanside, Prof. Doug has dedicated his life too teaching and Martial Arts.  With Several Black Belts in various Martial arts and over 30 Muay Thai fights.  He is dedicated to giving the best class possible and changing lives through Jiu Jitsu.

Professor Doug is a 1st degree Black Belt under Prof. Flavio Almeida – 5th Degree Black Belt and Prof. Felipe Guedes – 3rd Degree black Belt out of San Clemente, CA.  He accredits Jiu-Jitsu with not just changing his life but saving it.  As well as the Marine Corps and Gracie Barra with making him the person he is today.  Helping him evolve from a low self-esteem person to a Gracie Barra instructor and school owner.  But one true passion you will see when you meet him is his love and desire for teaching.  Prof. Doug says it’s his passion and privilege to do for others what Jiu Jitsu and Gracie Barra has done for him.
