The Gracie Barra Oceania Awards Night returns in 2025 with fresh energy, a new program flow, and the same spirit of excellence that unites our Red Shield family across the region.
Held on Saturday, 6 December at Dee Why RSL in Sydney, this annual celebration is the pinnacle event on our calendar — a night dedicated to honouring milestones, inspiring futures, and strengthening the bonds that make Gracie Barra more than a martial arts organisation: we are a global community.
This year’s schedule has been thoughtfully restructured to enhance the experience, ensuring every moment is given the spotlight it deserves.
Opening with Honour: Black Belt Promotions
The evening begins with reverence and pride as we welcome our newest Gracie Barra Black Belts. Each promotion represents years of discipline, sacrifice and relentless pursuit of excellence. It’s not just the culmination of a journey — it’s the beginning of a deeper level of learning and service.
Recipients will be called to the mats individually, receive their belts from their professors, share their reflections, and be recognised by the community that helped shape their path.
Recognising Excellence: Awards & Dinner
Following the promotions, we shift into a moment of heartfelt celebration — the GB Oceania Awards Ceremony, paired with a three-course dinner.
This segment highlights individuals and schools who exemplify our core values of Brotherhood, Integrity and Development. Among the awards presented:

Prime Time Action: Super Fights
After dessert, we return to the mats — this time, for the Super Fights.
Introduced in 2024, these matches were an instant highlight, and they return this year in the perfect closing-time slot to showcase the skill, heart and teamwork that define Gracie Barra athletes. Expect thrilling matchups, debut black belts stepping into the spotlight, and our community rallying behind every takedown and submission.
Each match tells a story of dedication. Each athlete steps onto the mat not just to win — but to inspire.
Celebrate to the Rhythm: Live Band
To end the night in true Gracie Barra style, a live band will take the stage to fill the room with music, joy, and celebration.
Whether you’re dancing, chatting with teammates, or simply soaking in the atmosphere — the final hours of the night are about connection, reflection, and creating lasting memories with your GB family.
