A Night of Brotherhood: Gracie Barra Oceania Awards Night 2025
The Gracie Barra Oceania Awards Night 2025 was an unforgettable celebration of everything that makes our Red Shield community so special. Filled with emotion, pride, and the unmistakable energy that rises when our extended GB family comes together, the event highlighted the strength of our region and the values that unite us.

The evening opened with one of the most meaningful traditions on our calendar: Black Belt promotions. Each new belt represented years of discipline, sacrifice, perseverance, and commitment to the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Watching these milestones achieved in the presence of professors, teammates, family members, and GB schools from across Oceania made the moment even more powerful. It was a proud reminder that in Gracie Barra, no one walks their journey alone.
From there, the celebration flowed into the Awards Ceremony and a shared three-course dinner. Individuals and schools from across the region were recognised for embodying the core values of Brotherhood, Integrity, and Development — values that guide every student, coach, and leader in our organisation. The applause, cheers, and genuine support for each award recipient showcased the unity and strength of our community. When one of us succeeds, we all rise together.
After dinner, the mats came alive once more for the Super Fights, delivering an exciting showcase of technique, determination, and heart. The crowd was loud and supportive, proudly backing every athlete as they stepped into the spotlight. The atmosphere in the room lifted with every match, reminding us why Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu continues to inspire students of all ages: it is a martial art built on respect, courage, and continuous growth.
To close the night, the entire GB Oceania family gathered to enjoy a live band performance, celebrating side by side long after the formal program ended. School owners, instructors, students, families, and friends all came together — laughing, dancing, and sharing the moment. It was the perfect reminder that Gracie Barra is more than Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We are a family. Events like this strengthen the connections that keep our region united, inspired, and progressing together.
