Ian\u2019s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey began in 2009, training between Canberra and Melbourne. After a few years of dedicated training, he earned his blue belt in 2012 \u2014 a milestone that reflected both achievement and growth.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Over the following years, life reshuffled Ian\u2019s priorities. Work commitments, raising a family, and eventually relocating to rural Queensland in 2018 made consistent training difficult. He tried to find a new club that felt like home, but nothing seemed to fit. Gradually, he experienced what many call the \u201cblue belt blues\u201d \u2014 a sense of disconnect, stagnation, and longing for the mats.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
In 2022, Ian\u2019s life changed forever. His 12-year-old son, Kyan, tragically passed away in an accident on their property.
