Renzo Gomez-Barrios has been a Jiu-Jitsu student since 2010, and a Gracie Barra team member since 2016. Jiu-Jitsu quickly became an important part of his life, helping him develop and sharpen not only his skills on the mat, but also his discipline, drive, and mindset. By 2019, Renzo had developed a strong desire to help spread the joy and benefits of Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu, and began a journey to be an instructor as well as a student.

Renzo believes that Jiu-Jitsu and Gracie Barra have been major contributing factors in his success as a professional, husband, and father. He has a strong belief that we are capable of achieving so much more than we may have been told, and are limited mostly by our own minds. Jiu-Jitsu has helped him break down many mental barriers and push to new heights, and one of his life goals is to help others develop a growth mindset as well.

Outside of Jiu-Jitsu and Gracie Barra, Renzo enjoys hiking, long days paddle boarding, and of course, spending days relaxing at home with his wife and two daughters.

Renzo is a Black Belt under his good friend and original teacher Professor Victor Emanuel, Jow Jow, and Flavio Almeida, who has been a defining factor in his mindset and commitment.
