Be Personable to Strengthen Your GB¹ Program

Think back to when you were a White Belt. There were probably many things running through your head. Maybe you were stoked to get on the mat. Perhaps you were wondering if this thing called Jiu-Jitsu was really for you. As you went through your training, you likely encountered challenges, successes, setbacks, and accomplishments. All of these are part of the Jiu-Jitsu journey. But you were not alone on this journey. There were fellow students, Assistant Instructors, Instructors, and mentors who influenced you and shaped your journey.

Now it is your turn.

It is time to shape those White Belt students at your school in the GB¹ Program. It is your turn to be the influential mentor. One of the most effective ways you can do this is to be personable.

What does this mean – be personable?

As an essential element of GB Charisma, it is your role as a leader in your school to be personable. In essence this means that you:

Behave in a way that makes people feel comfortable, makes them want to be around you, and makes them feel like a part of the Gracie Barra family.

Being personable is really a “people skill”, and we all know people who excel at it. They elicit certain feelings and have unique characteristics which enable them to connect with others.
