Professor Cody was born and raised in Long Beach, California but has called Texas his home for over 15 years. He has been training and competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 13 years. Professor Cody has been fortunate to have travelled and trained all over the world with numerous competition wins in the USA and Internationally. While living abroad in Singapore, Professor Cody fell in love with BJJ and began the journey that would reconnect him with his childhood passion of freestyle wrestling and would ultimately bring him to his BJJ home, Gracie Barra.

Learning BJJ from some of the best instructors in the world, Professor Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhaes and Professor Marcelo “Uirapuru” Azevedo, Professor Cody’s approach is to stay focused on individual potential while keeping grounded in the core values of Brotherhood, Integrity and Development.

As a United States Marine and a Former Law Enforcement Officer, Professor Cody finds a deep connection to the comradery and fellowship only found on the BJJ mats.
