Professor Jonathan Singer

Professor Jonathan Singer moved from San Diego, CA in 1997 to El Paso, TX for a change of life . He started training Jiu Jitsu at Gracie Barra El Paso in 2014 after enrolling his children in classes. He credits Jiu-jitsu with helping him improve his life on several occasions and in several aspects. One of his favorite parts of training Jiu-Jitsu is that the strategy of this sport helps you to think two moves ahead.
He has done three very notable competitions, two being Gracie Barra In-House tournaments and one IBJJF World Masters Tournament in November 2021. Professor Jonathan started out occasionally helping on the mats with the Kids Classes and found that he really enjoyed the coaching aspect and realized how it greatly improved his own Jiu-Jitsu game. He came on board at Gracie Barra as a Program Director in late 2021 and quickly acquired the Professor title when he began to run a successful morning class for the Academy. He is currently a black belt, and has completed the 2024 ICP Certification.
