Taking Care of your Mind is Jiu-Jitsu: And if you fail, try again

Whatever the reason that motivates you to keep training, competing, or even teaching, all of us have faced or will face some kind of frustration. Of course, when you follow the right way, the probability of this happening is reduced, but will never be zero.

But after all, how come the frustration in an environment that we like so much to be in? The point is that, in order to really feel good when you wear the kimono, it is necessary to be all right with everything that surrounds you. Family, financial and/or personal issues… If your energy on some of these points is not “from normal to excellent”, anything else seems to not be good either.

tichaRisking everything to build a training academy, resigning anything to follow another dream that came up inside you… In short: Try. Trying and failing is possible. However, some people do not know how to deal with this kind of frustration and end up falling into dismay, wavering and weakness.

Like everything in life, trying does not mean trying only once. To conquer something it’s necessary to keep trying. Always.

Persistence is the quality of those who got there. If you are experiencing a problem and is feeling discouraged, remember:

I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
