Kids Jiu-Jitsu Manual is Available to all GB Schools

A few weeks ago, Gracie Barra Association released an extensive handbook for instructors on how to teach Jiu-Jitsu to children.

The Future Champions 3.0 (or simply FCP 3.0) is a result of the colaborative effort of several highly qualified GB instructors and its manual was created to as a road map for the succesful implementation of a kids program at a Jiu-Jitsu School.

Gracie Barra Schools can make great use of the manual by offering to GB parents and training their coaches on how Jiu-Jitsu for Kids.

If you have not yet had a chance to see the document, here is a snapshot of some of its most important parts:

1) Program Structure:

what is the best way to organize your classes? What classes should you offer? It all depends on your goals for the Kids program and how many students you already have.

2) Curriculums:

Each age group is allocated to a specific program and each program has it own set of classes defined by the FCP 3.0 Curriculums. This is very useful to instructors since they can find here what exactly should be taught and when.

3) New Belt System:

The FCP 3.0 provides an effective solution for the old problem with the Jiu-Jitsu Kids belt system: students spending many years on the same belt due to age requirements. The new belt system has a total of 11 belts and a more simple set of stripes. By following it, you can ensure committed students will be promoted for stripes once a month and for belt once a year.

4) Belt Testing:

For the first time, Gracie Barra came up with guidelines for the schools to implement a test the students must pass to earn the next belt. The FCP 3.0 provides a suggestion of techniques students on each level must know to progress to the next rank.

5) Leadership Program:

The FCP 3.0 brings an innovative approach to evaluate the students behavior and progress beyond the boundaries of the school. The leadership program brings parents and instructors together to provide feedback and guidance to the students on making progress on all areas of their lives. Students with positive evaluation are awarded the GB leadership patch.
