The Man Who Wins is the Man Who Knows He Can

I recently stumbled upon an article about marketing. It seems that one of the biggest facets about the business is motivation and the mind. And I can’t help but think that there is a huge similarity with Jiu-Jitsu, and goes to show that most people who succeed in the field of marketing, for both online and offline, have to have the mindset of a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. Whichever, and whoever exists first does not matter.

Gracie Barra is primarily, and as I would like to call, came from a thought. A primordial thought by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. Now, I want you to do something first. STOP reading this article, and look at the Gracie Barra logo.logo

(Pause…)

Looking at it, (while I have yet to state my point in this article), it only looks like a plain looking logo right? Wrong. Digging deeper, what I want you to realize is that the logo never existed 20 or 30 years ago. It is not a part of nature, nor did it appear out of nowhere and found itself sewn at the back of every Gracie Barra Gi sold at GBwear.

8644026992_39ef51bf87_oIf you think about it in a long and maddening manner, it came from a thought. Then it was materialized through action. It came from the thought of a man who once dreamed of making a difference in the world through teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and lifestyle change.

And what that man did is to make it happen. To make his thoughts real through action. Transforming and idea into action. And that action spilled over his students. We are not seeing 400 schools that originated from one thought.

The man who wins is the man who thinks he can, and I also believe that the man who can dream it, can become it.

To those who may feel that they are not progressing in their Jiu-Jitsu journey, I want you to review your thoughts. Are your thoughts self-limiting and defeating? Are your thoughts rejecting your progress.

Imagine if Master Carlos let his thoughts defeat him, there wouldn’t be any Gracie Barra.

If your thoughts are defeating you, or keeping you from materializing your good thoughts, plans and vision about your BJJ, learn to control those by surrounding yourself with people that care about your growth, reading and educating yourself about the mind and its potential, practicing, catching your negative thoughts, auditing what you say, and assessing on where you want to go and how you want to get there.

Remember: be careful about what you think, respect your thoughts. For these thoughts can cause a wildfire that can either change or destroy the world.

Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone and the Limitless Mind.
